Oklahoma Aviation Staff
Clay Healey
Clay Healey, President

At the age of five, I started flying. My father stood me between his legs in his Cessna 336. The joy of flight and the feeling of control filled my soul. All pilots will understand those feelings. In 1982, at the age of 22, I received my private pilot's license, and have since enjoyed every single day that I have had the opportunity to fly. It is my personal goal, and my goal for Oklahoma Aviation, to enable each and every client to experience the great joy of flight.

It is also my personal goal, and my goal for Oklahoma Aviation, that we make your day better at every opportunity. At Oklahoma Aviation you will get truly old fashioned "service with a smile!" Our smiles inspire positive attitude, motivation and success. I live my life and run my business with this simple idea: "Life is too short to deal with unhappy people, so don't. Be happy in life and you will get the job done." I know you will enjoy doing business with Oklahoma Aviation. Come and see me!

Shohaib Kassam
Shohaib Kassam, Director of Operations

Originally from East Africa, and fluent in six languages, Shohaib "Sho" Kassam brings an international perspective to Oklahoma Aviation. Sho started living his dream of aviation as an apprentice at the Cooper Motors Aviation maintenance department in Mombasa, Kenya. “On my first maintenance test flight, I experienced the thrill of flight first hand. From that moment, I was hooked. There was no turning back.” At age 18, Sho took the next step toward his dream and moved to Norman, Oklahoma. There, within a year, Sho obtained his various Pilot Certificates and began his first real job as a full time flight instructor. Sho has instructed Oklahoma pilots since 2000 and has amassed over 3500 hours of flight instruction.

Sho holds Commercial Certifications for Single and Multi-Engine Airplanes and Certifications as a Flight Instructor and Instrument Instructor for Single and Multi-Engine Airplanes. In addition he is the only full time flight instructor in the Oklahoma City Metro area to be Cessna factory trained in the G-1000 glass cockpit and to be a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot. Sho has an array of experience in single and multi-engine airplanes and is taking steps to actively pursue his Airline Transport Pilot License. Additionally, Sho has been appointed as an FAA Safety Advisor.

A native of Gainesville, Florida, Marcus Buchanan moved to Oklahoma in 1985. As is the case with so many pilots, Marcus developed a passion for aviation in early childhood. When he was able to start flying in 1998, he obtained his private pilot’s license at Oklahoma State University. Subsequently, Marcus attended the Airline Training Academy in Orlando, Florida. There he received his single engine rating, his multi-engine rating and advanced levels of flight training in the corporate field. Marcus then returned to Norman, OK for his Certified Flight Instructor and Instrument Instructor ratings.

Prior to joining Oklahoma Aviation, Marcus instructed at the Aviation Department of the University of Oklahoma. He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and excitement about aviation to our team.

Nick Pettiet
Nick Pettiet, Assistant Chief Flight Instructor

Nick Pettiet is Oklahoma Aviation’s newest flight instructor. He is a native of the Oklahoma City area. Nick’s interest in aviation was sparked by his first commercial flight at the age of 6. However, it wasn’t until his junior year at Oklahoma State University that he went on his first flight lesson. After receiving a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from OSU, Nick moved back to Oklahoma City and began flight training at Oklahoma Aviation. Nick earned his private, instrument and commercial certificates with us and can give you a first hand account of the high quality of instruction Oklahoma Aviation provides.

Prior to joining Oklahoma Aviation, Nick worked in the hotel and property management industries. He also worked for Atlantic Aviation here at Wiley Post Airport providing ground support for general aviation aircraft.
